Wynwood has become the city center for technology and the arts in South Florida. Originally a garment district, the neighborhood has experienced a creative renaissance. Ten years ago, there were only a few art galleries, a modest monthly art walk, and streets lined with warehouses, many of which were abandoned. Now an internationally-known destination, today’s Wynwood includes one of the largest open-air art galleries in the world (featuring murals by artists like Shepard Fairey, Os Gemeos, and Kenny Scharf), and a variety of trendy galleries, shops, restaurants and bars.
